Weblio is based in Basel and builds websites for businesses in the city, in Riehen and Bettingen and across Basel-Landschaft. Fixed price up front.
Fixed price from CHF 499, travel included
Two tram lines cross the national border here: the 8 to Weil am Rhein, the 3 to Saint-Louis. From the Spalenberg over to Kleinbasel is a quarter of an hour on foot. We build for the businesses in between, and we are one of them.
Guests check their phone before setting off: menu, opening hours, whether you are open at all today. Anyone with an audience on both sides of the border keeps two holiday calendars, and the site should say so.
Before picking up the phone, people want to know which treatments you offer, who provides them and when a slot is free. If you treat cross-border commuters, answer the insurance and language question on the page itself.
The enquiry arrives from a phone, and the first question is almost always whether you even drive out that far. Service area, a handful of reference photos, a form that takes thirty seconds.
Purchasing and quality assurance read in English, look for certificates and data sheets, and want to find them without calling. A clean services page saves you half the sales folder here.
The imprint says Basel, and so does the Google profile. That only helps you once it changes something day to day. It changes three things, and you can check every one of them.
A meeting is a tram ride, not a travel day
For a conversation at your premises we take the tram or the S-Bahn. Whoever turns up also built the project: no handover to a junior team, no chain of briefings in between.
Getting to you is not on the invoice
Within Basel-Stadt and Basel-Landschaft we do not bill travel time. That is not a discount, it follows from the short distance, and it is why a second meeting here is never a negotiation.
We sit in the same market as you
Customers who count in euros, staff who cross the border every day, suppliers in Baden and Alsace: we know that setup from close up. You do not have to explain it to us.
Plenty of businesses here have guests from Baden, staff from Alsace and accounts kept in francs. That reaches all the way into the website: price display, language, forms, and the question of which data protection law actually applies. We settle that before we build, not afterwards.
The three packages: Onepager from CHF 499, Starter from CHF 699, Business from CHF 1'099. After a short video call the sum is set and does not move. There is no open hourly billing and no surcharge for another round.
QR invoice, TWINT, 30 day payment terms, Swiss place of jurisdiction. None of that changes if your guests come from Weil am Rhein or Saint-Louis. For your website it changes a good deal, see the next two points.
The Federal Council lists EU and EEA states as countries with adequate data protection, so a transfer there needs no additional safeguards. The location is rarely the delicate part. What matters is what the page loads on the side: map services, fonts, analytics.
Switzerland has no consent requirement like the EU, but it does require transparency under the revised FADP. As soon as you deliberately address an audience in Germany or France, the EU standard applies on top. In this region that catches far more businesses than in the Swiss Mittelland, which is why we look at your case before anything is built in.
Basel in the imprint means nothing until it changes something day to day. We work in the same border triangle as you, with customers from three countries.
How we work
If your question is not here, send it by email or WhatsApp. The answer comes on working days, short and with real numbers in it.
What does a Basel business pay for its website?
Three packages, each at a fixed price: Onepager from CHF 499, Starter up to three pages from CHF 699, Business up to five pages from CHF 1'099. Booking, a shop, a second language or a newsletter come as add-ons, each with its own price. After the first call the sum is set out in writing.
Do you come to our premises?
Yes. Within Basel-Stadt and Basel-Landschaft we come by, with no travel costs on the invoice. We still suggest a short video call for the first conversation, and nobody has to mind the shop for you. If you would rather meet in person, we simply swap the order around.
Does my website need a French version?
That depends on your customers. Around 36,000 cross-border commuters work in Basel-Stadt, roughly half from Germany and half from France. If a noticeable share of your audience comes from Alsace, French is worth it. For a business that stays within its own neighbourhood, usually not. Bilingual here means two separate addresses and two separate sets of text, not a widget that machine translates the German page. The price for it is listed separately in the quote.
We are not in the city but out in Basel-Landschaft. Does that work too?
Yes. The canton of Basel-Stadt consists of three municipalities, Basel, Riehen and Bettingen, and most of the region's businesses sit outside them. Allschwil, Binningen, Bottmingen, Oberwil, Therwil, Reinach, Arlesheim, Münchenstein, Muttenz, Birsfelden, Pratteln and Liestal are all within the catchment area, and the work runs the same way everywhere.
Why not one of the big Basel agencies?
If you need a brand campaign across billboards, cinema and social, an in-house photo studio to go with it, or a separate team per channel: then take a big agency. We cannot do that. We build websites at a fixed price, with no account manager in between, and a onepager budget still gets you an appointment here.
Is it quicker because you are just round the corner?
No. Two to four weeks, whatever the scope. More pages mean more hours on our side, not more waiting on yours. Counted from the day the texts and images are complete. That is where most projects stall, and the short distance changes nothing about it.
We listen, ask a few questions and then send you a quote at a fixed price. No obligation. What happens next is your call.
