Since 2024 the duty to publish a legal notice sits in the Digital Services Act: name, address, a fast way to make contact, plus register entry and VAT identification number where they exist. Hosting and backups run on servers in the EU. The delicate part is rarely the server location, it is what the page loads on the side: fonts, maps, videos, analytics tools. We keep fonts on our own server, and for hosting we settle the data processing agreement under Article 28 GDPR before the start.
In Germany anything that is not technically necessary needs consent before it stores or reads something on your visitor's device. A banner alone is not enough: if the scripts load before the click, the consent is worthless. So we build the site without unnecessary third party services first and place a banner where one is genuinely needed.

How high is the price for a website in Heidelberg?
There are three packages, each with a fixed price: the Onepager from CHF 499, Starter covering up to three pages from CHF 699, Business covering up to five pages from CHF 1'099. Booking, shop, a second language or a newsletter come as add-ons with their own price. Whatever is agreed in the first call then stays unchanged. Invoicing is in euros.
Do you come to Heidelberg for meetings?
The first call runs on video and stays short. For a concrete project we come to Heidelberg, a good two and a half hours by train with a few through services a day. We do not travel for questions in between, because the journey would end up in the price. Everything ongoing is handled by the dashboard, the ticket system, WhatsApp and video.
Does our website have to be accessible since 2025?
The German Accessibility Strengthening Act has applied since 28 June 2025. It covers certain products and services offered to consumers electronically, a shop or an online booking for example. For services there is an exemption for micro enterprises with fewer than ten employees and at most two million euros of annual turnover. Whether your business falls under it is something we look at before the quote instead of leaving it open.
Our office is in the surrounding area, not in Heidelberg. Will you still work with us?
Yes. Ludwigshafen, Speyer, Worms, Weinheim, Schwetzingen, Wiesloch, Walldorf, Leimen, Eppelheim, Sandhausen, Neckargemünd, Sinsheim, Eberbach and Hockenheim are within our catchment area, as are the Bergstrasse, the Odenwald and the Kraichgau. The way we work is the same everywhere, because it does not depend on the distance.
Does our site need an English version?
A good fifth of the residents hold no German passport, several thousand people from abroad study at the university, and at institutes such as the EMBL English is the working language. On top of that come the visitors in the old town. Multilingual means separate addresses per language with their own texts, not a translation widget laid over the German page. It is an add-on with its own price.
Why should we not take an agency from the region?
If you need someone who drops by to talk things through, brings an in-house photo studio or puts twenty references from the Rhine-Neckar region on the table, then take an agency from here.
